ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
WHY BLACK FLY
Canada's landscapes are as diverse as the projects that shape them. From mountain valleys and northern forests to rivers, coastlines, and wetlands, every landscape deserves thoughtful stewardship.
We help clients move projects forward responsibly through practical environmental assessment, environmental monitoring, permitting, and regulatory support across British Columbia, Alberta, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. Our work spans pipelines, transmission lines, renewable energy, mining, infrastructure, and community development, supporting projects from planning through construction and beyond.
We believe good environmental consulting is built on trust. Trust in the science. Trust in the people doing the work. Trust that the advice you receive is practical, defensible, and grounded in real field experience. Our multidisciplinary team delivers wildlife surveys, fisheries and aquatic assessments, wetland and vegetation assessments, Species at Risk surveys, water quality monitoring, environmental compliance, and Indigenous environmental services with a focus on clear communication and practical solutions.
We are proud to work alongside First Nations and Métis partners, braiding western science with Indigenous knowledge to support responsible development and long-term stewardship of the land.
Black Fly Environmental is a Certified Women-Owned Business through WBE Canada. We are known for being responsive, approachable, and committed to doing good work with good people. Because the best projects are built on strong relationships, practical thinking, and a genuine respect for the landscapes we all share.
